School   Introduction

The   school of Energy and Environment Engineering originated from the Mechanical   Department established in 1958. The school currently has 114 faculty and   staff, including 29 senior professional titles, 41 associate senior   professional titles, 41 PhD supervisors, 81 master's supervisors, and 95% of   the faculty hold a PhD degree. There are 3 national professional talents, 13   provincial and ministerial professional talents, and 58 "Yuanguang   Scholars" within the university.

The school   offers 5 undergraduate majors: Energy and Power Engineering, Environmental   Engineering, Building Environment and Energy Application Engineering,   Environmental Protection Equipment Engineering, and Environmental Engineering   (Sino-German Cooperation). Energy and Power Engineering, Environmental   Engineering, and Building Environment and Energy Application Engineering are   national first-class majors. Environmental Protection Equipment Engineering   is a new major launched in 2018, which is a major in urgent need in Hebei   Province. Building Environment and Energy Application Engineering passed the   professional assessment and certification of the Ministry of Housing and   Urban-Rural Development in 2016 and was reviewed as excellent in 2021.   Environmental Engineering passed the international engineering education   professional certification of the Ministry of Education in 2022. The school   has the right to grant first-level doctoral degrees in Power Engineering and   Engineering Thermophysics. It has established 4 secondary doctoral degree   authorization points, including Engineering Thermophysics, Thermal Energy   Engineering, Chemical Process Machinery, and Energy and Environmental   Engineering. Relying on the school, there is also a secondary doctoral degree   authorization point for Heating, Gas Supply, Ventilation and Air Conditioning   Engineering.

Major   Introduction

The   discipline of power engineering and engineering thermophysics with   "emphasizing both engineering disciplines", focuses on the   cutting-edge fields of clean and efficient development and utilization of   energy to meet major strategic demands of the national and   Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, especially industrial structural adjustment for   energy conservation and emission reduction. It gives full play to the   advantages of cooperation platforms jointly established by the province, city   and ministry to cultivate a team of discipline teachers with reasonable   structure and vitality. The university builds a high-level platform for   scientific and technological innovation and talent cultivation in the fields   of energy and environment. It comprehensively improves the quality of talent   cultivation and strengthens the ability of scientific and technological   innovation. It has made breakthroughs in a number of common core technologies   for energy and environmental industries. It provides strong technical support   and intellectual support for the social and economic development of the   region.

Educational System

The   basic study period for doctoral students is 4 years, and the maximum study   period is 6 years.

Training   Objectives

Facing   the major strategic demands in the national energy field and the urgent needs   for energy transformation in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, combined with   the industrial background of power engineering and engineering thermophysics   disciplines and Hebei Polytechnic University's overall orientation of running   schools, adhering to the fundamental principle of cultivating morality and   people, it cultivates high-quality and high-level research talents with   all-round development in morality, intellect and physique. They are able to   undertake scientific research, engineering design and product development as   well as educational and teaching work related to power engineering and   engineering thermophysics disciplines. The goal is to cultivate research   talents who have both moral integrity and professional competence to serve   the country's energy development and transformation needs in the   Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

Curriculum   Plan

The   doctoral program is in principle scheduled to be completed in 0.5 academic   years. Public politics is 18 credit hours (1 credit), foreign language is 20   credit hours (1 credit), and other courses are 16 credit hours (1 credit).   Each professional basic course, professional core course, professional   technology course, and professional literacy course shall not exceed 48   credit hours (3 credits).

Doctoral   courses are divided into degree courses, non-degree courses, and other   training links. Degree courses include compulsory courses and core courses,   and non-degree courses include subject elective courses and interdisciplinary   elective courses.

      Faculty      Resources

There   are currently 78 teachers at the academic department. Among them, there are   19 professors and 31 associate professors. There is also 1 foreign   academician, 4 national level talents, nearly 20 people such as experts who   receive special allowances from the State Council, outstanding experts from   Hebei Province, and teaching masters from Hebei Province. There are 3 labor   models from Tianjin City, 3 winners of the May 1st Labor Medal from Tianjin   City, 1 outstanding Communist Party member from the education system of   Tianjin City, 2 provincial model teachers, and 1 person of the annual figure   of tutors in universities of Hebei Province. There are 8 national and   ministerial level scientific research and teaching platforms; it also has   national-level honors such as advanced collectives of the national education   system and advanced collectives of national professional and technical   personnel, as well as honors such as demonstration courses on course thought   and political education and excellent teaching teams in Hebei Province.

Employment   Prospects

The   Ph.D. program of Power Engineering and Engineering thermophysics is designed   to cultivate the all-round development of morality, intelligence and body,   solid basic theory, generous professional knowledge, outstanding scientific   research and innovation ability, and strong learning ability. The Ph.D. will   obtain independent scientific research ability, engaged in the field of   energy and basic environmental research, technology development and   application, engineering design and implementation. They will be high-end   talents in energy management and energy-related technology research and   applications. This discipline not only focuses on the training of scientific   research students, but also focuses on the training of scientific and   technical talents, and senior technical and management talents who meet the   needs of the modernization construction of power engineering and engineering   thermophysics and the requirements of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei integration   construction.
