Electronic Science and Technology

School Name: School of Electronics and Information Engineering                   Major Name: Electronic Science and Technology

    School       Introduction

The School   of Electronics and Information Engineering (EIE) is one of the rapidly developing   schools at Hebei University of Technology(HEBUT), and also one of the   schools that trains the most international students. In recent years, it has   admitted nearly 60 international doctoral and master's students from more   than 20 countries around the world.

EIE has a   postdoctoral scientific research station in Electronic Science and   Technology, a doctoral program in Electronic Science and        Technology, and   three master's programs in Electronic Science and Technology, Information and   Communication Engineering, and New            Generation Electronic Information   Technology.

EIE has a   strong faculty and close international exchanges and cooperation. There are   currently 32 full-time professors, 38 associate          professors, 36 doctoral   supervisors, and 90 master's supervisors; Most of them have overseas study or   work experience.

EIE has   First-rate scientific research conditions and remarkable scientific research   achievements. There are now the Tianjin Key                Laboratory of Electronic   Materials and Devices, Hebei Province Key Laboratory of Advanced Laser   Technology and Equipment, Electronic     Devices and Systems Collaborative   Innovation Center, and the 12th Five Year National Electronic and   Communication Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, which provide good   support for talent cultivation.

    Major       Introduction

Electronic   Science and Technology is a national key discipline cultivation project   discipline, a domestic first-rate discipline in Hebei Province's "Double   First Class" construction, and a provincial-level key discipline, and it   has high international influence.

Recruitment   research direction:

1.   High-power laser and electronic information technology: Research on   high-power laser technology, devices, and their applications; Research on   microelectronics technology and materials, micro-nano optoelectronic   materials and devices, as well as low-power and high-speed electronic devices.

2.   Intelligent information processing and wireless communication: Research on   information perception, expression, processing methods, and applications   based on artificial intelligence and big data technology; Research on   wireless channels and their radio wave propagation theory and technology,   smart antennas, wireless networks, and unmanned systems.

Educational   System

The basic study period for doctoral students is 4 years, and the maximum   study period is 6 years.

Training   Objectives

To meet the   needs of internationalization and modernization construction, this major   cultivates senior specialized talents with a broad international perspective   and innovative capabilities in the field of electronic science and   technology. Specifically, it includes:

1. Knowing   China, being friendly to China, loving China, abiding by laws and   regulations, having good moral character, rigorous academic style, possessing   an enterprising and collaborative spirit, and actively serving social   construction.

2. Master   the solid and broad basic theories and in-depth specialized knowledge of   electronic science and technology, possess the ability and literacy to independently   engage in scientific research work, and make creative achievements in science   or specialized technology.

3. Having a   broad international perspective and good cross-cultural communication,   competition, and cooperation abilities, mastering a certain level of Chinese   language.

Curriculum   Plan

1. Course   learning: Doctoral students should complete at least 16 credits, and course   learning is generally completed within one academic year. The major courses   mainly include Advanced electromagnetic field theory, Laser Optics, Big Data   and Data Mining, Modern Image Analysis, etc.

2.   Dissertation work: including literature research, dissertation proposal,   mid-term report, dissertation writing, dissertation review, dissertation   defense, etc. International doctoral students should take no less than one   and a half years from passing the dissertation proposal to conducting the   dissertation defense.

Faculty   Resources

This major   has a strong team of doctoral supervisors and currently has 36 doctoral   supervisors. To ensure the quality of the supervisor's teaching staff, the   doctoral supervisor in this major undergoes an annual enrollment   qualification review by the university and a qualification review by the   School of International Education before admitting international doctoral   students. Excellent supervisors have been selected this year to guide   international doctoral students.

1. High   academic level of supervisors: The supervisors have achieved outstanding   academic achievements in their respective research fields, and often   cooperate and exchange with domestic and foreign scholars. They all have more   than one year of overseas study or work experience and have a certain   academic influence both domestically and internationally.

2. High   level of guidance from supervisors: This major has been recruiting   international doctoral students since 2014, the supervisors have accumulated   rich guidance experience, and the international doctoral students trained are   excellent, all of whom have become senior specialized talents in the IT   field.

Employment   Prospects

This major   belongs to the IT industry and involves various fields of electronic   information. The employment prospects are very broad and the benefits are   high.

After   graduation, international doctoral students can be competent in teaching,   research, engineering, technology development, and management related to   higher education institutions, research institutions, and industrial sectors.   In particular, they can work in computer and IT industries in electronic   companies, communication companies, banks, securities, and other related   departments. They can also work as technical support engineers and system   integration engineers in departments such as Internet/E-commerce, Instrumentation/Industrial   automation, Communication/Telecommunications/Network equipment, etc.

At present,   international doctoral graduates from this major mainly work in higher   education institutions, as well as high-tech enterprises such as Internet   companies.
