School   Introduction

School of   Electrical Engineering is the earliest department established by HEBUT, and   its achievements in teaching and research have made it the “flagship” school   of the HEBUT. The school has 125 full-time faculty members including 47   professors, 43 associate professors and 9 post-doctoral teachers, in   addition, 36% of them have overseas study experience. The school has the   first experimental teaching demonstration centers in Hebei Province, two   province-level excellent teaching teams, and a demonstrating center for   teaching and researching of "Reliability and Intelligence of   Electrotechnical Equipment" of postgraduate courses. Through the Chinese   Government Scholarship Program for International Students and the   International Cooperation and Training Program for Innovative Talents, the   school has built a high-quality international talent training system. The school   promotes teaching and serves the society through scientific research. The   school attaches great importance to the cultivation of students' innovation   ability, and has built the Student Innovation and Practice Centre and several   laboratories open to all students, which provide an excellent platform for   students to innovate on their own.

Major   Introduction

Electrical   Engineering is developed based on the national first-level key discipline of   "Electrical Machinery and Electrical Appliances" in HEBUT. The   major of Electrical Engineering is the top undergraduate major of China and   the featured major in national level. Meanwhile, the major is ranked as one   of the Ministry of Education's Outstanding Engineer Training Program. In the   year of 2017, the major got China Engineering education accreditation   qualification.

The major   follows the international advanced training concept and cultivates   professional elites and social pillars with the knowledge structure,   innovation ability, international vision and international competitiveness of   the complete industrial chain of electrical engineering. The Electrical   Engineering follows the university characteristics of integration education   with engineering practice and social service as well as the promoting technological   education for national prosperity emphasis on the independent learning   awareness and ability to solve new problems. Students will learn knowledge   about power system and its automation, new energy power generation, smart   grids, power electronics technology, electrical equipment and other fields   through diversified courses in an international prospective. The full-time   professional master’ degree in Electrical engineering aims to cultivate   high-level professionals with a strong foundation of fundamental theory,   professional knowledge, and the ability to independently implement scientific   research, teaching and engineering project management with career background   and the international prospective.

Educational   System

The   basic study period for master’s students is 3 years, and the maximum study   period is 4 years. The basic study period for doctoral students is 4 years,   and the maximum study period is 6 years.

Training   Objectives

The major cultivates students throughout   the entire process of talent training, adheres to the student-centered   approach, implements the output-oriented education concept, and highlights   the university characteristics of integration education with engineering   practice and social service as well as the promoting technological education   for national prosperity. Focusing on the production, transmission and   utilization of electric energy, with electrical equipment manufacturing and   power system operation as the engineering application background, we will   build an innovation and entrepreneurship education curriculum system that is   integrated throughout the entire process, strengthen practical teaching   links, deepen the integration of industry and education, comprehensively   promote the connotative development of the profession, and improve Quality of   talent training for electrical engineering and automation professionals.   Cultivate students with profound cultural heritage and solid professional   basic knowledge, good comprehensive quality and broad international vision,   the ability to engage in scientific research, technology development and   organizational management related to the field of electrical engineering, and   the ability to develop high-tech and future technologies. Professional elites   and social pillars with the potential to transform new technological   achievements, scientific and technological innovation thinking, teamwork   spirit, comprehensive development of moral, intellectual, physical, artistic   and labor, rigorous and pragmatic, pioneering and innovative, with a sense of   social responsibility, legal awareness and distinctive characteristics of   Hebei University of Technology.

Curriculum   Plan

The programme is arranged according to the   schooling orientation and objectives of HEBUT. The master’s degree in   Electrical Engineering consists of basic, professional and elective courses.   The teaching management of international students includes performance   assessment, daily attendance, and comprehensive assessment. The assessment   standards are the same as those for Chinese graduate students in HEBUT.   International students should participate in activities such as academic   research, teaching practice, social practice, and specialized technical   training in accordance with the requirements of the training plan, and abide   by the regulations on thesis defense and practical assessment.

Faculty   Resources

Currently, 125   full-time faculty members are employed in the School of Electrical   Engineering, including 47 professors, 43 associate professors and 9   post-doctoral teachers. And there are 60 Ph.D supervisors (including   part-time) and 116 master supervisors (including part-time), in addition,   most of the supervisors have academic or professional experience aboard. The   School is home to an outstanding faculty of renowned scholars and dedicated   educators including 3 Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering of   part-time, 6 Special government allowances of the State Council experts, 2   Excellent Young Scholars of the National Science Fund, 1 China Association   for Science and Technology young talent project, 2 outstanding mid-aged   experts of Hebei province, 3 Excellent Young Scholars Fund and 7 excellent   management experts on Hebei Province level, in addition, the school has 7   management excellent expert, 4 talent project, 8 young core teachers in Hebei   province. Moreover, a number of faculty members are selected for the   “innovation team of Giant Project” and Leading talents Program, Tianjin   talent development projects of Advanced electromagnetic detection sensor   technology, as well as top teachers, excellent teachers, model teachers of   province-level. This faculty team of high quality in terms of knowledge,   passion, competence, and innovation is the fundamental guarantee to the high   quality of education in School of Electrical Engineering.
