2020 HEBUT Chinese Speaking Contest

 

         Every year, School of International Education (SIE) will hold Chinese contests to give all international students of Hebei University of Technology (HEBUT) a stage to show their Chinese talents. This year, due to the Covid-19 epidemic, we decided to hold the contest online. If you are interested, keep reading for more details!

        Theme

        My Experience in China During Covid-19 Epidemic. No matter what form you choose, the content of your works must be related to this theme.

        Requirement

        To hold the contest in a fair way, participants will be divided into 2 groups based on their Chinese level. Assessments and prizes will be given separately.  Please check requirements below carefully and choose the one that suits you the best.

        1. Novice group

        Novice Chinese learners could choose the form of role-play. Each performance should be no more than 10 minutes and contain no more than 5 members.

        2.Intermediate and advanced group

        Intermediate and advanced Chinese learners could choose the form ofspeech. Each speech should be no more than 5 minutes and be given byone single person.

        To avoid crowd gathering, whole process of the contest will be held through internet. Participants are supposed to make a video of their performances/speeches by their own phones or cameras. To have your works better presented, participants are encouraged to edit their videos with background music and pictures.

        Prize

Three Participants with highest score of each group will be chosen as winners. Winners will be given certificates and trophies. Their works will also be shown on SIE official WeChat account. Other participates could also get a souvenir.

        Activity Entry Way

All participants please send your video to 2019064@hebut.edu.cn by May 17th. Please name your video in the following form "role-play/speech-student number-works’ name" (for role-play, use the leader’s student number).
