Introduction of Tianjin
 
As one of the four municipalities directly under the central government in China, Tianjin is an economic center of North China, an international port city, and an ecological city. Located at the center of the Bohai economic rim, it is the largest costal open city in North China, a cradle of modern industry, the coastal city that opened up earliest in modern times, and a center of shipment and industry in North China. Tianjin has been elected as one of the happiest cities in China for many times.
 
The downtown area of Tianjin is 137km from Beijing, and it takes only 30 minutes to travel from Tianjin to Beijing by inter-city train. Tianjin is also known as a portal of Beijing, the capital of China.
 
Tianjin is located on the east bank of the Eurasian Continent at middle latitude, and is mainly dominated by monsoonal circulation. With prevailing monsoon, it has a continental climate, characterized by four distinct seasons.
 
Tianjin is famous in the world for snacks, and there are numerous snacks with high diversities and unique characteristics in this city. The most well-known snacks of Tianjin are Shibajie fried dough twist, Goubuli steamed stuffed buns, and Erduoyan fried cake, called “the three top snacks of Tianjin”. Walking on the streets of Tianjin, you will certainly find your favorite snack.
 
Introduction of Hebei University of Technology
 
Hebei University of Technology, founded in 1903 as Beiyang Technological School, is one of the colleges and universities that cultivated the first batch of industrial and technological talents in China.
    Located in Tianjin, the University has a coverage of 1,999,000 square meters.
    It is a key university under the “211 Project” of China.
    It is a university jointly developed by the government of Hebei Province, the government of Tianjin Municipality and the Ministry of Education.
    It is a university under the “World First Class Discipline” project of China, and a Tier One university in Hebei under the “National First Class University” project.
    It has been qualified to admit overseas students supported by the government scholarships from China Scholarship Council.
 
Application for admission
 
I. Application deadline: June 20, 2018
II. Prerequisites
1. The applicant must be a non-Chinese citizen holding valid passport issued by a foreign country.
 
2. The applicant must be healthy, have good conduct, and abide by the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China as well as the rules and regulations of the University.
3. Educational background and age requirements:
    A candidate for a bachelor degree must hold a certificate of high school graduation, and should generally be not older than 30 years;
    A candidate for a master degree must hold a bachelor degree, and should generally be not older than 35 years;
    A candidate for a doctoral degree must hold a master degree, and should generally be not older than 40 years.
4. Majors taught in English have no requirement for Chinese level of the applicants, but the applicants from a non-English-speaking country should have TOEFL results not lower than 75 or IELTS results not lower than 5.5;
Applicants in humanism and law related majors should have a Chinese level at least equivalent to HSK5 or 210 points in new HSK4, except for the applicants in the major of International Chinese Education.
Applicants in science, engineering, economics or administration related majors should have a Chinese level at least equivalent to HSK4 or 190 points in new HSK4;
All applicants should meet above-mentioned conditions or pass the interviews organized by the University.
 
III. Application procedures
The applicants need to log on the “Online Application System of Hebei University of Technology for Overseas Students” (https://hebut.17gz.org/member/login.do) to complete the online application procedures.
IV. Enrollment and notification
1. The University will examine the application materials of the applicants and enroll better ones.
2. The University will send the Notice of Admission, the Application Form for Chinese Visa for Overseas Students and other materials to the admitted ones by July 2018. The applicants may check the enrollment results in the “Online Application System of Hebei University of Technology for Overseas Students” (https://hebut.17gz.org/member/login.do). Inquiries about enrollment results made in the form of email will not be replied by the University.

Note: 1. A fresh graduate who is temporarily unable to provide the certificate of graduation and the degree certificate should provide a “certificate of expected graduation” issued by the school. If he/she is admitted, the original and photocopy of his/her certificate of graduation or degree certificate should be provided at the time of entry. If he/she cannot provide such certificate by then, he/she will be disqualified from the admission.
2. The application materials and the registration fee will not be returned no matter whether the applicant is admitted.
